"Marconi’s Atlantic Leap" is an important record of the turning point in communications world wide, overcoming great distances and saving countless human lives. In the very early days, Marconi’s achievement reduced the loss of life by over 700 on the SS Titanic, and secured the arrest of Dr Crippen - the first arrest accomplished by radio.

The first transmission sent directly from the USA to England was a message from President Roosevelt to King Edward VII. Many of the illustrations that appear in the book have never been published before.

Poldhu Amateur Radio Club - GB2GM. On the famous site at Poldhu is a visitor centre run by volunteers of the PARC. Carolyn Rule M0ADA, Chairman of PARC says: "The Building is a permanent base for the Radio Club together with a fitting memorial to the great work carried out on this site, those three small dots sent from here on the 12th December 1901 changed the world forever." The web site shows construction photos of the centre and details of a visit by Guglielmo Marconi, grandson of the great man himself.
