Millennium Year 2000

Members of Leicester Radio Society have been wishing you a "Happy New Year" since 1999!

As part of the special privileges to radio amateurs in England, Secretary, Arthur, G0TNI, was issued with the special call sign GB2MMY.

Allocated by the Radio Society of Great Britain, LRS used this unique call sign to publicize the year 2000 and it gave us an opportunity to talk about all things related to the millennium.

GB2MMY was active throughout 2000.

Special QSL's, as shown above, were available for contacts made.

If you miss out on a special event broadcast then the we are on-air Monday nights from LRS headquarters.

NOTE: The millennium officially started on 1 January 2001 (there was no year 0)
